Some content that could most likely be shown is mentally unstable characters. This could be shown by having the characters have anxiety, distorted reality, identity crisis, themes of paranoia, and lastly trauma. These aspects give the movie what it needs to be to be phycological thriller.
One technique used in psychological thrillers is to build tension for the audience. These movies are getting the audience invested because tensions is built so the audience is wanting to know what will happen next. The techniques used to create this could be unreliable narrators, isolation , low lighting, tense music, distorted minds.
The settings the could be used are isolated houses or areas, offices, modern environments, any place to create high-tension atmospheres. Some editing qualities that could be used are close ups to show true emotions, quick editing and fast pacing. High tension string music to create fear and tension.
